What is the feature all about ?

It is a group discussion feature where you can club different groups under a single community tab so that it is easier to manage and cascade info to different communities.

Where is the feature placed ?

It is positioned at the top left part of the tabs. Currently this spot is held by “Camera” feature in WhatsApp.

Communities – Flow:

Communities tab -> Click New community -> Add Community Name & Description -> Add community pic -> Add Groups

The flow is exactly similar to Group formation in WhatsApp -> Communities are essentially nothing but “Super Groups”

Feature list- WhatsApp Communities:

1. Users can add upto 50 groups in a Community with 1024 members in each group
2. Phone numbers are visible only to admins
3. Admins can send messages to entire community seamlessly
4. 32 person video & voice calling
5. In-app polls creation feature
6. Larger file attachments upto 2GB size.
